Solar Batteries for gate automation systems. Sealed Lead Acid or Lithium-Ion

Gate automation has a number of requirement for batteries with the main being as backup power source or solar storage. Typically the smaller batteries like 1.3AH through to 7AH are used as backup sources and the larger batteries from 26AH to 100AH are used as solar storage. Understanding what size batteries you need can involve a bit of math but a simplistic way to think of batteries is as a fuel tank and the larger the fuel tank the longer you will last without refilling. As a general rule though in the automation industry we prefer not to use much more than 10 to 20 percent of capacity without topping up.
